The campsite’s eco-responsible approach

Camping du Lac de Savenay is highlighting its commitment to ecology by adopting eco-responsible solutions aimed at reducing water and energy consumption on site, while limiting the impact of the campsite on nature. The aim of this approach is to reconcile vacations with responsible tourism.

Water

All rental units are equipped with water-saving devices. Campsite staff are also trained to intervene in the event of leaks.

Energy

Hot water production in the sanitary facilities is provided by an electric system, guaranteeing production with no direct CO₂ emissions.

To optimize energy consumption, all sanitary blocks are equipped with presence detectors, enabling lighting to be adjusted only when necessary.

Throughout the campsite, lighting fixtures are fitted with low-energy bulbs, helping to reduce energy impact.

In accommodation, electrical appliances such as refrigerators and ovens are also selected for their energy efficiency, with economic ratings of A or A+.

Waste

Raising awareness & communicating with customers about the need to sort waste, in collaboration with the Loire & Sillon Community of Municipalities.

A selective sorting area is available for staff and customers. Hazardous waste is stored separately. It will then be recycled through specialized channels.

Maintenance

The majority of our cleaning products will be ecologically certified. We will not use chemical fertilizers on our plantations.

Instead, we’ll use natural fertilizers. We’ll recycle some of the green waste to make compost.

Landscaping

If necessary, we undertake to replant trees on the site. Replanted trees will be local species only. We will promote the use of natural materials in the campsite facilities.

Customer

Our brochures and letterheads are made from recycled paper and printed with vegetable-based inks. To save paper, the campsite favors e-mail exchanges.

We promote nature walks, discoveries and visits. Vehicle traffic will be prohibited from 11pm to 7am in the campsite. Bicycles are available for hire at the campsite.

Our customers are informed on site about the possibilities of using public transport to get around.
